When people hear that the F45 comes in an outboard version, the first question is usually the same one. Why?
It's a fair question. The F45 already has a clear identity a boat built for long days, generous living space and real privacy on board. Changing how it's powered sounds like a technical footnote. In practice, it's a different answer for a different kind of owner.
Outboard power has a character of its own, and the people who prefer it tend to know exactly why. Engines mounted at the stern are easy to see, easy to reach and easy to look after. Routine care doesn't mean opening up the boat. When something needs attention, the path to it is short and obvious. For owners who like to understand their boat and stay close to how it runs, that simplicity matters more than any line on a spec sheet.
There's also the question of where the boat can go. Outboards can be tilted up, which makes shallow bays, sandbars and quiet anchorages easier to approach with confidence. For anyone whose idea of a good day involves getting closer to the shore than most boats would dare, that flexibility opens up a different map.
Moving the engines outside the hull also changes how the space inside can be thought about. The F45 was already designed to feel wide, calm and liveable. The Cabrio Outboard keeps that promise while giving the boat a slightly longer, more purposeful stance at the stern a profile that reads as capable before it has even left the dock.
What doesn't change is everything that makes an F45 an F45. The enclosed main cabin with its closing door. The living area that moves naturally from lunch to sunset. The convertible roof that lets you decide, on the day, how much sky you want. The build quality that holds up to real use rather than showroom use.
So the outboard version isn't a lesser F45 or a greater one. It's the F45 for the owner who values directness the one who wants to explore a little further, maintain a little more easily, and feel a little more connected to the machinery that gets them there.
